Abstract

The research problem crystallized through several axes, the most important of which are the limited use of modern training methods such as the aquatic environment, which plays a prominent role in the development of football players' performance, as well as the weakness in the researched biomechanical capabilities. Aquatic compound exercises are considered one of the modern training methods with a distinctive character that works on developing players physically through the resistance caused by the aquatic environment, which enhances the functioning of the nervous and muscular systems, thereby developing the researched biomechanical capabilities, which directly affect the players' performance during the match. The researcher chose the experimental method with control and experimental groups for the pre- and post-tests. The researcher selected the research sample through a lottery to generalize the results. The research was conducted on the study population, where (20) players from Damok Sports Club were selected. The researcher randomly divided this sample into (10) players for the control group and (10) players for the experimental group. The researcher conducted pre-tests for the study variables and carried out the main experiment on the experimental group, which included a set of compound exercises (physical-physical) in the aquatic environment at two levels: low above the ankle joint and high without the knee joint, for the purpose of varying the distribution of training loads. These exercises amounted to (24) exercises over a period of (8) weeks, with (3) training sessions per week on (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday) from the special preparation phase. After the repetitive training, the researcher conducted post-tests where he identified the results, confirming the impact of compound exercises in the aquatic environment on the biomechanical capabilities of the research sample. The study reached the following conclusions:
- The use of exercises in the aquatic environment enhanced the efficiency of the nervous and muscular systems in regulating the biomechanical capabilities that correspond to football performance.
- The rise and fall in water level contributed to the fluctuation in the distribution of training loads and aided in the development of biomechanical capabilities, which in turn helped in mastering technical performance. The use of compound exercises in the aquatic environment had quick responses that contributed to stimulating the working muscles, which in turn contributed to the development of the studied variables.
