Building a scale for professional stress among physical education teachers in the center of Mosul city

The aim of the research is to: 1) construct a scale for the professional pressures faced by physical education teachers from the school administration, educational supervisor, fellow teachers, and students. 2) establish levels for the professional pressures scale for physical education teachers in the center of Nineveh city. The descriptive survey method was used, and the research sample consisted of a construction sample (180) and an application sample (60) physical education teachers within the city of Mosul. To achieve the research objectives, a scale for professional pressures was constructed and its validity was verified. In the statistical data analysis, the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and percentage were used.Percentiles, hypothetical mean, mode, median, skewness coefficient, and simple correlation coefficient as statistical tools. The researchers concluded the following:
- A professional stress scale for physical education and sports teachers was constructed in the center of Nineveh Governorate. The scale included 52 items.
- Overall, the professional stress levels among physical education teachers were average.
- The professional stress affecting physical education teachers had a moderate impact on their performance during the implementation of physical education lessons.
- The relative ranking of the items on the professional stress levels among physical education teachers varied.
