In order for feelings and emotions to be appropriate and for the athlete to be able to calm themselves from anxiety and rapid arousal, and to tolerate the results of mistakes or failures, it requires the ability to possess psychological skills in general and psychological relaxation in particular. Then, they can manage their emotions, transform them into positive emotions, reduce anxiety, and practice the nature and type of activity. Those who lack this ability remain in a constant conflict with themselves, and consequently, their state will reflect negatively, always feeling anxious and tense, and suffering from repeated failures. Additionally, self-motivation to direct feelings and emotions towards achieving a goal is extremely important for success and excellence. Therefore, psychological skills play an important role inPsychological control, regulation of emotions, and their direction towards achieving success and making purposeful decisions, and thus achieving success. The current research aims to: 1. Build and standardize a scale to assess the psychological relaxation of archery players. 2. Establish criteria (grades and levels) for the designed scale. As for the current research problem, researchers have noticed through their modest experience and review of previous studies the scarcity of studies in this field (to the best of their knowledge and review). Additionally, many archery matches are lost by players not due to physical, skillful, or technical performance, but rather due to the inability to link and utilize the players' physical, skillful, and psychological capabilities to serve the main goal.We notice that training in psychological skills in general and psychological relaxation in particular is considered one of the most important psychological processes in the sports field, alongside training in physical fitness elements and motor skills through long-term preparation. Neglecting this aspect reduces the chances of reaching high levels and achieving success. Therefore, the researchers decided to construct and standardize a scale to evaluate psychological relaxation for archery players. Research community and sample: The advanced archery players in Baghdad Governorate, numbering 65 players, were the research community, while the research sample consisted of 48 players, forming a percentage of 73.84% of the research community. The research included presenting, analyzing, and discussing the results.
As for the main conclusions:
1. A scale for evaluating the psychological relaxation of archers has been constructed and standardized.
2. Standards (grades and levels) for the designed scale have been established.
As for the main recommendations:
1. Conduct further studies on the same research topic in other sports activities.
2. The necessity of establishing a special training unit for archers that includes a comprehensive and practical explanation of psychological skills in general and psychological relaxation in particular within the team, as it has an impact on improving players' performance.
