Scientific advancement is a defining feature of our modern era, encompassing various aspects of life—including sports—with the aim of preparing individuals in a comprehensive and balanced manner to achieve high-performance levels. Training exercises are expected to simulate match conditions and influence the player's learning process. Motor anticipation is considered one of the external indicators for evaluating movement in sports, playing a vital and central role in various athletic events due to its association with accurate movement perception.
Research Problem:
This study investigates whether specialized motor anticipation exercises can improve and develop the service skill among badminton players.
Research Objective:
The research aims to examine the impact of specific motor anticipation exercises on the players of the Al-Mustansiriya University badminton team.
Methodology and Field Procedures:
The researchers employed an experimental method using a single-group design, as it was deemed appropriate for the nature of the research problem.
Research Population and Sample:
The sample included all (4) players of the Al-Mustansiriya University badminton team, representing 100% of the population. Table (1) illustrates the description of the study sample.
Pilot Study:
A preliminary pilot study was conducted on a small sample to identify potential challenges or obstacles that might arise during the main experiment.
Main Experiment:
The researchers reviewed the instructional and training program followed by the university team’s coach in order to develop and implement relevant training elements. All post-test results demonstrated improvement compared to the pre-test results in the service skill, showing significant differences and a notable development rate of 50.20%, indicating the effectiveness of the applied exercises.
Conclusion:
The exercises designed by the researchers significantly improved the service skill of the study sample.
Recommendations:
It is recommended to conduct similar studies on other samples and different age groups.
