Football is one of the activities that requires significant scientific efforts to develop methods and techniques for measuring performance during the match for football players based on a scientific approach rooted in observation and experimentation. Understanding a player's performance during the match is crucial to assess the effectiveness of the training methods and techniques used, each of which has an impact on improving players' performance due to certain adaptations in the functional systems. Research objectives: The research aims to identify: 1- The level of performance effectiveness among the research sample individuals. -2 The level of aerobic and anaerobic capacity (relative VO2 max) among the research sample individuals. -3 The relationship between the functional indicators under study and the level of performance effectiveness among the research sample individualsResearch Hypotheses: The researchers hypothesize that: -1 There is a significant correlation between performance effectiveness and the functional indicators under study. The researcher used the survey method with correlational relationships due to its suitability for the nature of the research, on a sample consisting of 18 players from the Premier League in football registered with the Iraqi Central Football Federation for the 2020/2021 football season. In light of the results reached by the study, the researcher concluded the following: -1 There is a significant correlation between performance effectiveness and the long-term anaerobic capacity index and the maximum relative oxygen consumption, while the results showed an inverse significant correlation between the short-term anaerobic capacity index. And the oxygen capacity, indicating that the performance effectiveness of football players is significantly affected in addition to continuous running of 2414 meters. -2 Weakness in the players' oxygen capacities, as the players' maximum relative oxygen consumption did not reach the expected level compared to global study results. In light of the conclusions, the researcher recommends the following: Based on the study results and findings, an important relationship was clarified between physiological variables and the performance effectiveness of football players. Therefore, the researcher recommends the following:The importance of using functional tests is under study by coaches when training their players, periodically, to enable continuous guidance and prediction of the impact of training programs on the players' functional condition.
