Indicators of the attacking tactical performances of teams in the 2016 UEFA European Championship and their relationship to the match results

Tactical training in football is extensive and adaptable according to specific areas of the field and the number of players involved in those tactics. The methods to be implemented vary and differ based on the coach's instructions and the circumstances surrounding their execution. These methods are a set of agreed-upon movements among several players, and one or more offensive strategies may be used to reach the opponent's goal and achieve the desired objective of football, which is to score the highest number of goals against the opponent. Therefore, the process of analysis came into play, which is one of the effective means to improve performance by identifying the negatives and positives in the teams' performance, as analysis generates...The perception of the nature of teams' tactical performance and thus the possibility of comparing the tactical level of teams with those participating in various tournaments. In light of this, the study delved into this important field problem in football, as analysis helps improve training methods and thus raise the level of football performance. The research aimed to:
1. Identify the indicators of individual offensive tactical performance for the semi-final stage teams in the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship.
2. Identify the match results for the teams participating in the semi-final stage of the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship. The following hypothesis was assumed.There is a significant correlation between the indicators of offensive tactical performances of the teams participating in the semi-finals of the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship and the match results. The researcher used the descriptive survey method on a sample consisting of eight teams that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship out of twenty-four, forming a percentage of 45.098% of the original research population. A total of 23 matches out of the 51 matches were analyzed, and the teams included in the study were (Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Austria, Portugal, France, Germany, and Wales). In light of the analysis and discussion of the results, the researcher concluded thatThere is a positive correlation between offensive tactical performances and match results among the research sample individuals. Based on the conclusions reached, the researcher recommends the following:
1. The necessity of focusing on offensive tactical performances due to their positive impact on match results.
2. Increasing the time allocated for training offensive tactical performances to enhance players' performance levels across all age groups.
3. The training process should focus on these variables through training situations similar to the match.
